Bernhard
Felsenthal was born in Munchweiler, Germany
in 1822. He emigrated to the United States in 1854 and served the
Sinai and Zion Congregations in Chicago
(1861-87). An early Zionist, he was founder of the Jewish Publications
Society of America and the American Jewish Historical Society. Felsenthal
died in 1908.
