Gerald
Pryse was born in
Ashton in 1882. He studied art in London and Paris and began contributing
to the Punch, the
Strand Magazine and the Graphic.
After the First World War Pryse designed several
powerful posters for the Labour Party. Pryse
retired to Morocco where he died in 1957.
