Leon Barritt (1852-1938) was a regular contributor to Vim Magazine. In 1898 he produced the famous cartoon of Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst that illustrated the struggle between the owners of the New York Journal and the New York World. In the drawing both men were wearing the distinctive clothes of the Yellow Kid, a cartoon character created by Richard F. Outcault. Outcault had originally worked for Joseph Pulitzer and the New York World. but had been persuaded by William Randolph Hearst to move to the New York Journal.
